Spring has sprung!

As promised, a new post! I am so excited to share that our mud season was short lived, and Spring is in the air! Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and the trees have more blossoms than you could imagine. Even as I type this, we are in the fifties on this chilly Spring morning, waiting patiently for our high of sixty-seven degrees. So lovely!
And though Springtime severely affects my allergies, the beauty of Mother Nature coming back to life after a long winter makes it all worthwhile.

Some fresh lilacs.

I wish you could smell them!

We have a few different colors growing on the property, so I cut blooms from two different bushes.

Pink blossoms on a tree on our brick patio.

A shot of the blossoming apple tree through our antique windows with original wavy glass.

And while I have the camera out, why not share a few more shots? :)

Finnegan.

A baby grand piano finally came to live with us!

Wishing you all a lovely Spring day!

Happenings around here...

Well, I do say some time has passed since my last post! Rather than recap the last few months (those will come in upcoming posts!), I thought I'd show you what happened around here this past weekend. We didn't stay at home, working on Spring cleaning as we should have, but instead loaded the dogs and ourselves into the car, and took off for beautiful, Newport, Rhode Island.

I know, Monsieur Rochambeau, we're heading into town!

We chose this past weekend because Summer is just around the corner, and as you can imagine, when Newport is at its busiest. But there is something to be said about enjoying a gorgeous, Spring day in such a wonderful place, filled to the brim with the most stunning 18th and 19th century architecture.

Trinity Church, built in 1726.

And what would a stop in Newport be without a peek at the ocean?

I hope you enjoyed your little getaway as much as I did! And don't worry, I'll be back soon! (Hey, I'm serious this time! ;)

Here we go!

If you're still here...hello! I've finally made myself sit down, sort through pictures, and complete an entire post! I've worked past the bloggers block, and have several posts in the works. So, without further ado, here's the first post (that is long overdue).

Please don't hate me for bringing it up, but this winter was something else! We, along with the rest of the country it seems, had so much snow, frigid temperatures, and frighteningly high heating bills. Although it was such a bear, it was truly beautiful. I cannot imagine living somewhere that I can't enjoy all four seasons.

It was beautiful, no denying it, but I am oh so glad that Spring is here in New Hampshire! Only just about two weeks ago did all of the leaves arrive here in central New Hampshire, and everything is really in full bloom now!

Forsythia in bloom a few weeks ago.

Our new house has some beautiful plantings all around it, but I cannot even begin to figure out where to start. I've made a few calls and am attempting to get someone to come and take a look, and possibly give me some direction. I've taken care of some things, but there is really a lot of landscaping to deal with. Hopefully I can share some more of it soon, once it is cleaned up, that is!

This wonderful Spring weather (when it is not raining!), has had us taking a break from our hectic schedules, and enjoying our region. We find ourselves taking drives to several of our surrounding states and New Hampshire, and let's just say that they do not disappoint!

Taken in Vermont last weekend.

Along the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire this weekend.

And just in case you think it's been all fun and games over here....

We've been working extra hard to get the barn cleaned out!

But we made sure to take the time to remember those brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedom.

Shew! As you can tell, it's been an exhausting few months over here, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. We're living our dream, through the ups and downs, and it has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. But don't worry, I haven't even touched the tip of the iceberg. A lot more to share....

But for now, good night!

Still here.

Hello! I am so sorry for my extended absence! I am indeed still here! I've been working on a post for about two months, though now it needs to be separated into a few posts. Life has definitely gotten in the way! I've had a lot going on, too much to share at the moment, but plan on giving some details this week! I just wanted to pop in to say "Hello", I hope you are well, and we'll chat soon. (I promise!)

A bit of Spring.

Although the snow is pelting down outside today...

with another 6-12" expected...

I thought we could use a little hint of Spring to tide us over.

Here's hoping that Spring is just around the corner.
